Look like a WAG, Be a WAG

$

When you are wife or girlfriend to an internationally famous football superstar, the pressure is on to look, feel, and be 110% perfect. To quote The Secret WAG (thesecretwag.com), “I also live my life in the bubble of WAGdom where there is pressure to look not just good but perfect. In WAGdom there is one big competition to be the best: to have the best skin, to be the thinnest, the fittest, the hottest WAG. No one wants to be the ugly fat WAG”.

Here are a few must-dos on how to achieve that level of extreme visual perfection.

Dress
It’s not necessary to wear couture everywhere you go, but do make sure you know what flatters your body type best! Try a personal shopper/stylist service just once to get all the starting help you need.

Bag
I’m not saying you have to get the most expensive it bag every season (but obviously if you can afford it, go for it). It’s always good to invest in a good quality bag that you know can take you everywhere, and be sturdy enough to last.

Accessories
WAGs tend to wear huge designer sunglasses. So why not? Protect your eyes, and look slightly mysterious all at the same time.

Face
Practice, practice, practice! Makeup, hair and beauty products can work wonders, but remember to keep it minimal. Makeup a mile thick on your skin is definitely not in fashion.  Neither is looking like you’ve just rolled out of bed.

Food
Nothing fattening, because maintaining your figure is key to looking amazing! But of course, what you eat can affect the condition of your skin – too much spicy food and you may just get some pimples! To get skin worthy of a WAG, try BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen Essence Drink (yummy, and good for your skin!)

So are you on the way to WAGdom? ^_~

5 Things to Bring to a Football Match – Even if You Aren’t a Fan

$

Even if you aren’t a football fan, the World Cup would be something that you would want to attend. After all, the tournament is more than just football. It brings people from all over together, and the atmosphere is just phenomenal.
That said, what are the things that you should bring with you to a match? Here are the top 5 things that you should put into your checklist.

Lozenges
Even if you aren’t a football fan, the atmosphere at the stadium would be so overwhelming, you’ll find yourself cheering and singing along in no time. To make sure the fun lasts, bring along some lozenges to keep your throat going!

Sweets and Snacks
A football match is pretty long, and you may find yourself feeling hungry as you watch and cheer. Sure, food is sold at the stadium, but instead of leaving your seat to queue and possibly missing a goal, take some sweets with you (Bars, chocolate or even fruits like banana! ^_~). BRAND’S InnerShine RubyCollagen Essence Strips are really convenient, yummy, and contains antioxidants and collagen that is good for your skin too!

Sunscreen
If you’re lucky, you’ll get a seat where the sun isn’t shining straight into your eyes. But since it is difficult to say where your seat is, and it’s just not right to open up an umbrella in the stadium, remember to bring along sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun as you revel in the fun and festivities. You know what others always say about the bad stuffs sunrays could give you, so remember to apply lots and reapply them everytime! ^,^

The Right Bag
With spilled drinks and wrappers littered all over the stadium during the game, you wouldn’t want any of it near your Chanel. So put away your It Bags, and get one that can fit all your necessities, and that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

A Good Camera
At the World Cup, the stadium is huge so your iPhone camera probably won’t cut it if you want to get some nice photos of the players and the game. This is where your 15 megapixel camera with a 20x zoom would come in handy!

What are your to-bring stuffs when comes to watching a football match? ^_^

Review: Meishoku Detclear Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly (Mixed Berries)

$

Ask me if prefer to use a physical exfoliant (beads) or a chemical exfoliant (acids), I would say both! What kind of exfoliant combines both physical & chemical exfoliant together, the answer is peeling gel.
I had yet came across a peeling gel that contains AHA & BHA in it until now, thanks to Sample Store.  Most of the peeling gel contains fruit enzymes but I find that they don't work as good as acids - AHA & BHA. And that's why I got interested with this new concept of peeling gel + AHA & BHA! hahax~ (^▽^)
Here I have the new Detclear Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly in Mixed Berries scent, produced by Meishoku.

About Meishouku
Meishoku has built a long history of 128 years by providing good quality skincare products through extensive R&D and by giving first priority to safety as a corporate vision.

Meishoku Detclear Peeling
Jelly is a newly developed skin peeling jelly series that has been introduced to markets around the world. It has a natural fruits derived AHA and plant derived BHA formula that is suitable for dry and sensitive skin. This product is additive-free and will gently peel away melanin-containing dead skin while dissolving black heads and impurities from the pores to reveal a fresh, smooth and radiant complexion. The resulting “new skin” allows the easy application of your daily skincare and makeup products. This amazing peeling jelly is especially suitable for people who have dull-looking skin, blackheads, acne and black spots.
Meishoku Detclear Peeling Jelly comes in 3 variants of mixed fruits, mixed berries and unscented. So ladies, fret no more as you can now simply peel away your “old skin” and have “new skin” every day!

Packaging & Ingredient
The original packaging is written in Japanese and SG's version has a sticker that translate everything in English including the ingredients. From the ingredient list, I can spot lots of names of fruits and vege as well as Malic acid (AHA) & Salicylic acid (BHA) which are commonly used as a chemical exfoliant.

Plastic packaging removed reveals the original bottle with descriptions in Japanese.

Pump type bottle, easy to dispense.

Swatch
A clear peeling gel that has a sweet-sour scent kinda like strawberries mixed with other kind of berries (just as described - Mixed Berries scent! ^_^).

Lightly spread out the jelly and massage it around on the back of my hand... and viola! Grey crumbs or particles formed... The peeling gel picks up the dead skin cells from the surface of my skin and removing old keratins resulting my skin feeling silky smooth.

Face Swatch
Just to let all of you know, my skin is combi-oily (can be very oily at times) and therefore I exfoliate frequently reason being dead skin cells form quickly on my skin. With every single exfoliation, I experience a great difference such as skin looking radiant & smooth immediately comparing to one who produce lesser dead skin cells than me.

Here shows the peeling jelly on my clean face (applied after removing makeup & cleansing)

Spread it around and lightly massage to get the jelly to form round crumbs where it will roll around collecting the dead skin cells. Perhaps the skin on my face is alot less dirty after cleansing therefore the crumbs aren't as grey and dirty like the one shown on my hand.

After rinsing the jelly crumbs off.

Review
I find that the Meishoku Detclear Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly (Mixed Berries)..
- has a nice berry scent
- 3 pumps are enough for whole face
- up to 5 pumps if including neck and decollete
- round crumbs form very quickly even when my skin/hands are damp or wet (awesome! ^^)
- painless, no irritation during the process of exfoliating
- easy to roll the crumbs around to remove the old keratin and dead skin cells
- feels cooling and hydrating as the jelly produces a kind of liquid to faciliate the maneuverability of the crumbs
- best to rinse off crumbs with warm water as I find that the very fine ones stayed on my skin when normal temp or cold water is used
- immediately smoothness on my skin after using the jelly (totally loving it!~)
- skin appears a little radiant and looks dewy
- skin absorbs skincare very well when applied right after exfoliating
- same smoothness on my skin can be felt too on the next day
- skin may become sensitive (depending on indivdual) after exfoliating thus suggest not to further apply skincare products that contain acids or pimple cream with strong formula
After dead skin cells along with the old keratin are removed by the acids, be sure to use products that hydrate and moisturize the skin well.
For the Peeling Jelly, I could use up to twice a week with no problem. But I recommend those who do not have oily/acne skin not to exfoliate as much as I do.
Now that I'd tried this, I kinda prefer Meishoku Detclear Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly over any AHA/BHA cleansing water. ^_^

Price
Meishoku Detclear Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly (Mixed Berries) SGD$29.95
Meishoku Detclear Bright & Peel Peeling Jelly (Mixed Fruits) SGD$29.95

5 things you probably never knew about the World Cup

$
0
0
The FIFA World Cup is known to be one of the, if not the, biggest sporting events the world currently knows. But perhaps beyond bringing together some of the best soccer players from all over, lesser known is the eccentricity it has also brought together since its inception in 1930. Here are some interesting things we found about this sporting event that might surprise or shock, but will definitely amuse you:

Team India’s withdrawal for footwear’s sake
The qualifying rounds of the 1950 World Cup in Brazil particularly highlighted the high number of withdrawals from witnessed from the Asian region. The opening saw Japan, Indonesia, Burma and Philippines all from the same group pulling out. This meant that the last country in the group, India, qualified without having to play a single game, progressing to the World Cup in Brazil by default. However, the Indian team was disallowed from playing in any match as a new FIFA rule stipulated that all players had to wear soccer boots. But their love for barefoot playing ran so deep that they decided boots were not an option and proceeded to withdraw from the 1950 World Cup finals. Thus, they became the team that qualified for 1950 World Cup without having to play a game but also withdrew from the World Cup because of footwear.

The 1930 mass security check
When the World Cup debuted in 1930, security was stringent. Before the 1st ever final in 1930, the referee ordered 60,000 fans to be checked. What was more surprising? Security actually found 1,600 revolvers amongst the crowd.

North Korea’s Orchestrated Applause
North Korea is, quite simply put, a pretty crazy country. Known for their end-to-end regimentation, it should be of little surprise then when these antics are brought into the world of soccer. And no, we don’t just mean the players. At the 2010 World Cup, North Korean fans actually had their applause orchestrated by a conductor.

Rolls Royce for goals
If there is one country that knew how to motivate their players, it would have to be the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 1990. This incentive is one that would make anyone hard-pressed to pass up. In 1990, each player from the UAE who scored would be awarded a Rolls Royce. Yupp, you read it right – Rolls Royce. That has got to hit all the right spots.

Head of the World Society of Friends of Suspenders
FIFA’s 8th and current president, Sepp Blatter has a rather interesting history behind him. While some know him as the president behind the world’s most watched sporting event, fewer would know he once headed the World Society of Friends of Suspenders. This organization tried to get women to wear stockings and suspenders instead of pantyhose. This wouldn’t be the only example of how the president mixed politics with his eccentricity. No wonder a collective cry has gone out for him to stand down from his presidency.

So, how many of the above trivia did you know? Feel free to share more below!

Best Football Ads

As we draw to a close of this crazy football season, we want to salute and celebrate the advertisements that brought a smile to our faces, directed us to where to satisfy our midnight hunger pangs, or stirred the innermost desire to immediately run out to buy that product.

All About Food

Where To Watch
For most of us, forking out over $100 to watch a month of football can be a painful financial exercise to swallow. Even if we can afford it, it’s hard to stomach the sickly feeling that we are being held ransom to the local Telcos who have been without impunity doubling the prices. Thank our lucky stars that there are real alternatives like McDonalds, SAFRA and CCs. The only downside is that you can’t watch it in your PJs.

Hmm – Looks like
Salute to the agencies and brands that reference the world’s most beloved game and recognizable cup. You have to be either daft or living in a cave not to know what the ads are about.

Even though some of these brands are not official sponsors, with just the right amount of cheeky humor, dash of colors and clever copywriting – they’ve managed to easily capture the attention of millions, both football fans and non-fans alike.

Audio specialist Beats is just one of those uber cool brands, where even a poster (a completely passive medium) makes you want to reach out and get yourself a set of Beats headphones. Do check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_i3Lcjli84 and hear the inspiring chat that Neymar had with his dad as part of his pre-game ritual – all this before listening to a motivating track using his Beats headphones.

Coming Back to Normalcy

Now that the soccer season has ended, you can finally bid goodbye to the late nights and disappearing acts that friends and families have been pulling on you for the past entire month. Here are 5 useful tips to help you re-adjust back to normalcy as you ease back into your football-disruption-free routine:

Step Up On Your Beauty Regime
Be diligent and invest time in your regular facial treatments. The late nights and disrupted sleep schedule may have left your skin dehydrated, and your dark eye circles more obvious than they were a month before. Look for deep nourishing beauty sheets that hydrate the skin or simply DIY an easy cucumber face mask!

Drink Up - BRAND'S® InnerShine® Berry Essence
Search no further if you’re looking for a drink that’s uniquely designed to improve your eye health.  BRAND'S® InnerShine® Berry Essence contains the goodness of 7 premium berries that neutralizes harmful free radicals and prevents the degeneration of eye cells.

Go on a Juice Cleanse
Get rid of toxins in your system by opting for a juice cleanse – bursting with nutrients and powerful antioxidants, they’re perfect for kick starting your healthy, post-football diet. Contrary to popular belief, juice cleanses actually increases your energy level so put your mind at ease and try this out if you can!

Catch up with your loved ones
Now that you finally have your partner’s full and undivided attention, spend some quality time and catch up on each other’s lives. A date night, or a simple home-cooked dinner would definitely do the trick.

Go for a Short Getaway
If you have been experiencing inefficiency and unproductivity at work – rest assured that this will soon come to an end, just as the soccer season. Re-energize yourself by going for a short vacation or a beach trip, as this may just be the very thing that you need. So take a weekend trip if you can to relax, unwind and recharge before diving back to work.

So how did you get back to your normal lifestyle after all the World Cup craze period? Do share! ^_^

Review: Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness Skincare Range

$
0
0
You probably have spotted a new skincare range displayed at several drugstore & pharmacy outlets lately. Something white and gold... and you might had opened them, smelt the content, swatched them on your hands...
And that new thing you had just tried, was actually the Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness skincare range.

About Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness
This new range consists of 3 products, mainly the Radiance Essence, Multi-Protect UV Fluid SPF50+ PA+++ and Radiance Cream.
Neutrogena takes skin brightening to new heights with the launch of the Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness skincare line, formulated to provide higher efficacy in combating stubborn dark spots, for healthy and radiant skin.
Designed to diminish the appearance of persistent dark spots, new Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness features a unique combination of VITAL-IONS™ and Lily Nectar for renewed skin that glows.
- VITAL-IONS™ technology uses zinc and copper minerals, known to be catalysts that kickstart the skin’s cellular renewal, speeding up the dispersion of melanin.
- Lily Nectar is the mixture of White Lily extracts and stabilised Vitamin C to suppress the production of melanin.

“Supercharging” Skin Metabolism
Neutrogena’s VITAL-IONSM technology is based on how copper “supercharges” zinc’s ability to boost cell renewal as the minerals work together to increase the skin’s metabolic rate. In the star product, Radiance Essence, copper and zinc are in two separate chambers, combining only when dispensed. This, says the brand, optimises copper’s “supercharging” abilities. According to tests by Neutrogena, lightening of stubborn spots and increased radiance are visible in just three weeks, and one bottle can rid skin of a year’s accumulated melanin.

Radiance Essence
Packaging describes in several languages include English & Chinese. Ingredient list included too .(click to enlarge image)

With just 30g of product, this bottle is actually pretty big, about the size of my whole hand. The product in white & gold appears rather elegant when placed on my vanity table. ^_^

Radiance Essence is of a pump type bottle with 2 small outlets that dispense 2 different contents at a time - zinc & copper.

Swatch
Here shows 3 full pumps of essence. As you can see, there are 2 types of content on my palm (zinc & copper) differ by its colour and translucency.

Face Swatch
When applied on my face, the essence gives off a subtle sparkling effect as it has what look like little tiny glitters or mica. This instantly makes my skin look a little more radiant and brighter. I would recommended to use it in the day as these little glitters reflect light which inturn make the skin look even more radiant.

After application, the skin doesn't feel oily at all.

Review
After using Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness Radiance Essence, I find it ...
- has a pretty sweet and floral scent
- usually use 2-3 full pumps for whole face & neck
- smooths out on my palm really easily
- lightweight, gelish consistency
- absorbs by the skin very quickly
- no oil content, doesn't feel oily on my hands and skin
- though there's no oily content but it still leaves my face look slightly glossy
- after application, skin feels a little sticky
- leaves skin looking sparkly as there are visible tiny glitters or mica in the essence
- skin immediately appear dewy
- hydration level wasn't up to expected, it feels a little bit on the dry side
Even though the Radiance Essence is oil-free, my skin still look a little glossy after application. But I find it weird that the skin feels matte and smooth when I run my hands over my face. It feels matte but looks glossy.. hmm..^,^"
I like the lightweight texture as it's easily absorbed by my oily type skin. I use it for both day and night after toner/lotion before moisturizer & sunblock.

Radiance Cream
Similar to the Radiance Essence, packaging shows 3 different language and there is a manufacturing & expiry date stamped on it too. (click to enlarge image)

The cream comes in a jar.

Like any other skincare in jars, it comes with an additional lid inside to prevent product degradation. I had been using this for sometime and I had to say the lid flew off my fingers/ fingernails several times. I wished they had not made it so hard for me to grasp. I would recommend those who have long fingernails to push the lid to one side before lifting it up because by pulling the lid up directly makes it harder. The lid sticks firmly to the cream below it and the little handle is too slippery to hold on to.

The packaging doesn't provide spatula so I gota get my own to dig up the content from the jar.

Face Swatch
The cream is not too thick and not very lightweight, falls just right in between the two.

Cream usually would make my face look very glossy, just like the image shown below.

Review
After using Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness Radiance Cream, I find it ...
- has a pretty sweet and floral scent (same as the essence)
- cream is slightly thick yet pretty light weight
- easy to smooth out on my plams and my face
- though it is oil-free, skin still appears pretty glossy and look a little oily
- use after Radiance Essence
- after application, skin feels smooth yet a little sticky
- the glossy surface can be dabbed away by tissue after which leaves skin looking a little dewy
- skin starts to oil up after some hours but mostly only on the nose
- hydration level was not up to expected as skin look a little dry after half a day
Good thing about this cream is that it doesn't make my face appear super oily after sometime unlike some others. Most of the time when using this cream, only my nose is oily and it was rather minimum, even lesser for my forehead and cheeks. However I wished it could have provided enough hydration for my skin as it appear a little dry and flakey when I put on makeup. While during times I don't apply makeup, my skin look pretty ok. ^_^

Multi-Protect UV Fluid SPF50+ PA+++
Different from the other two, this sunblock is made in Korea. (click to enlarge image)

This 30ml sunblock is in a small and sleek pump type bottle.

Surprise surprise! When I first swatch the UV fluid, I was taken aback that they actually made it in violet shade. To be frank, I had not used a sunblock in this shade before, not counting in violet makeup base/primer/concealer. So when I saw this, I was really happy and couldn't wait to try it immediately!

And so I tried and I am really in love of it! ^_^ (Sorry that the colour doesn't come out right in the below images, they should be light violet shade)

Why I love it is because it immediately brightens up my skintone and evens it out too.

Review
After using Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness Multi-Protect UV Fluid, I find...
- has the same nice sweet scent like the essence & cream but slightly lighter fragranced
- has a really nice light violet tint that instantly brightens my dull skin when applied
- easy to smooth out on my palms as well as on my skin
- takes not long to settle on my skin
- oil-free but still shows slight glossy on my skin
- excellent sun protect for my face and neck as I'd not experienced skin darkening or spot resurfacing even after walking under sun for hours
- able to conceal the flaws on my skin a little and make the spots not so visible
- instantly corrects my uneven skintone
- acts as a good makeup primer too
- need to be removed by makeup remover as the sunblock is pigmented (violet shade is consider as a colour pigment therefore there is a need to remove it like how we would remove our makeup)
I'd given this a test by walking under hot afternoon sun (along with the essence & cream applied before it) and I must say, it really did helped in preventing my skin from darkening and spots are not so visible anymore. I'd skipped applying them on my decollete and I regretted for doing that because when I got home, my decollete was one shade darker than my face, forming a dark U shape pattern on my chest where the collar was at. I would strongly recommend UV Fluid to users who have dull skin. ^_~

Before & After
The differences spotted (arrowed) just from 1 week of usage.

Overall Review
Besides the above dark spots (some are scars from acne/pimples and some are sun spots) that have lightened, my skintone has overall lightened too. It is usually more obvious once I came out from shower where I would usually compare my face against my neck shade in the mirror.
Many a times, my face would appear same or darker shade than my neck when I'm not using whitening products or not enough sunblock. After using Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness, I saw the difference on my face. Instead of looking all pale and white, my face appear more towards radiant and fair and it is now slightly lighter shade than my neck and brighter too! ^_^
I would love it more if this range could provide better hydrating properties. My skin is always in constant lack of moisture and at same time has alot of sebum in it. It is important for me to balance both to achieve flawless skin. It would be good if Fine Fairness range could give a little boost in its hydrating part.

Tokyo Luxey currently works with various Japanese brands such as Cold Fushion, Make It & Co., 24h Cosme, FairyDrops, KOJI, Laminaze cosmetics and etc.

Tokyo-Luxe: A Luxe Makeover TV Series
Here shows "Tokyo-Luxe: A Luxe Makeover" TV series, a collaboration between FOX International Channels (FIC) and TOKYO LUXEY. If you haven't watched it, do catch all 4 episodes on Tokyo Luxey's YouTube! ^_~

Tokyo Luxey Event
As a start, Tokyo Luxey brought in several items that are not available in Singapore and they put together all these products into a Gift Box available for purchase! I'll talk more about the gift box later on. ^_^
At our meet-up, Tokyo Luxey presented us with many Japanese beauty products which I personally had not seen or tried despite the love for all Japanese cosmetics (lolx~).
Here are some of the products shown to us:
- OYAMA KIRAAN! Metal Magic Liner
- Fairydrops Vanilla Puff Mineral Powder
- Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Waterproof
and more below...

Here we have Ms Chie Maeda, Managing Director of Tokyo Luxey presenting the new eclafutur by Albion.

Albion may be familiar to many of us because of their best seller - Skin Conditioner. And this time, Tokyo Luxey brought in yet another one of Albion's top 3 products - Eclafutur (meaning radiant future) for us to have a chance to try this highly raved treatment lotion.

- Albion Skin Conditioner

To let us try out Albion's best seller, Tokyo Luxey had kindly provided us with the Skin Conditioner Essential Paper Masks. ^.^

Back of the sheet masks shows the directions of using the mask and Ingredient list (in Japanese).

- Albion eclafutur

Glad that Tokyo Luxey supplied us with a sample size eclafutur too~ ^_^  For better absorption, eclatutur is used right after face is cleansed, follow by the rest of the skincare.

Next product introduced to us was a Japanese brand that's made in France, mainly using natural marine ingredients:
- Fleur De Mer Crème Essentielle Day Cream Face

Fleur De Mer Creme Essentielle is a hydrating, oxygenating and anti-oxidant cream. It is used in the day to protect skin from losing moisture and it's for all skin types. Apply it in the morning onto clean face and neck and massage delicately. In addition, Fleur De Mer products are also free from Paraben, Silicon, Mineral Oil, Phthalate, Propylene Glycol & PEG.

I love to see products sealed under the cap. Double security!

- Make It Co. Face & Body Wash Oil with Thyme Essential Oil (travel size)
- Make It Co. Premium Gel Face Gel (travel size)

It's packed so nicely even for a travel size product. ^_^

This Face & Body Wash Oil with Thyme Essential Oil is specially formulated for oil prone skin.

The spatula that comes with the mini jar is so cute! ^_^ This jar of premium gel containing macadamia nut oil and rose flower water is to be used on face after cleansing.

Next comes the product that was ranked No.1 in 2013 under the BB Cream category at @Cosme!
- Evangelist Nobuto UV Protect Cream BB Cream SPF31 PA++ in shade No. 01

This BB Cream contains Placenta & EGF (Epidermal growth factor). Both ingredients were a big hit in Japan last year (and probably still are) but to know whether they really work on our skin, we shall see~ ^,^
Btw, shade No. 01 is Evangelist BB Cream's most popular shade and it's in ochre (yellow-orange tone).

6 in 1 total cream and provides a 3D effect when applied onto the skin.

- 24h Cosme Powder Foundation in shade #03

This isn't my first time coming across the brand 24h Cosme because I'd seen it in magazines, swatched it at Japan cosmetics stores, bought a jap magazine that comes with a mini 24h Cosme powder foundation sample (shown later) and reviewed it too. ^_^
If you aren't sure what's 24h Cosme about, read them here!

Powder packed separately in a refill pack. Shade is in #03 Healthy skin tone.
24h Cosme contains many skincare properties so that one can wear this foundation as long as 24 hours.

Back of the refill pan has this sticky glue thingy that will stick firmly once placed into the foundation slot.

And done.

Shade 03 is rather dark, my skin tone is closer to shade 02. The foundation texture is pretty fine, adheres to skin easily.

24h Cosme actual vs mini size! Sho cute isn't it? ^,^

24h Cosme Powder Foundation in #02, 24h Cosme Powder Foundation in #03 and Evangelist BB Cream in #01.

Lately I'd been busy and didn't shop online much. When I got on Zalora, something caught my eyes......... THE OUTLET.
I must say, I really really like to check out clothes sold at outlets because I am cheapskate love to dig for gold. You know, if you can get one thing you really like and it's in your size plus it's on major discount, you feel as if you'd dug up gold from a pile of rocks!

With this new outlet, come other new stuffs! I'd noticed there's an online Magazine page available too! It's getting more and more interesting now. ^_^

Talking about new stuffs, do you know that Zalora has their very own fashion blog too? ^_^

In there, you can learn more about Zalora and view what's new in their blog.

You can get updates of Zalora private brand - EZRA in there too!

And check out what's new under their News section. From this month's news I get to know that SG Marketplace was launched!

Marketplace tab can be found at Zalora Singapore main page. I'm happy that there's a seperate page made specially for it because it'll mean more new labels, new products and more shopping! hehex~ ^,^

What new stuffs did you spot at Zalora lately? Do share with me! ^_^

Review: Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum & Light Cream

$

Sometime back my skin was rather dehydration which caused visible laugh lines and even oilier T-zone (lack of water), thus I decided to change my skincare products and get one that provides good hydration for my skin. And so I opened up Vichy Aqualia Thermal which includes 2 of their relatively new products:
- Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum
- Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Light Cream

I hardly can find one hydrating skincare product in my stash now (mostly anti-aging & whitening) so I really gota thank Vichy and VanityTrove for providing me these products.^_^

What a cute maze diagram! ^_^ Along with a blue pencil in the box too for me to find the way to uniform distribution of moisture.

Aqualia Thermal combined with Vichy Thermal Spa Water & Hyaluronic Acid is paraben-free and made for sensitive skin.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum
The 1st hydrating power serum containing 3 energising sugars and Vichy Thermal Spa Water that can capture and retain moisture. Also enhanced with dynamic hydration technology to continously even out moisture in all facial zones for fresh-looking skin all day long.
Who is it for? Women between 20 and 60 years old with dehydrated skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Packaging
Ingredients and expiry date listed on the packaging. 24 months of shelf life after opening the product.

Product in pump bottle with glass body. The blue glass bottle looks really pretty, don't you think so? ^_^

Face Swatch
Here shows about 1 to 1 half pump of serum on my cheek, before and after blending it out

Review
After using, I feel that the serum...
- feels lightweight
- has a pretty vivid aquatic scent
- silky & smooth in texture
- absorbs by skin pretty quickly however skin surface appear slightly glossy after application
- hands feel tiny bit oily after application
- after using a few days, skin feels only a little bit hydrated thus laugh lines are still visible, skin still lack of lustre
- only after about 2-3 weeks of using the serum, skin starts to become hydrated all around
- skin around laugh lines appeared a little more plumped up thus minimising the appearance of the deep lines
- lesser trapping of foundation within the laugh lines
- experience dewy, lustre skin
- skin feels less rough than before
- T-zone still appear oily less the cheek areas (previously whole face was quite oily because my face was really dehydrated everywhere)
- can be used together with other moisturisers
- can be applied day & night
- can be applied over neck area
- doesn't minimise comedones (pimples) or my mild acne that's mostly around cheek to jawline
It works pretty good alone too (with other moisturisers) even if I don't use Aqualia Thermal Light Cream together with it.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Light Cream
The range of dynamic hydration that stimulates distribution of water throughout all facial zones. Results: skin is hydrated in every millimeter to keep a fresh beauty all day long.
Who is it for? Women between 20 and 60 years old with combination to normal dehydrated skin.

Packaging
Different from the serum, Light Cream has a 12 month shelf life after opening.

Light Cream comes in a jar, does not include spatula.

Moisturisers often come in a larger capacity, this one's 50ml. I kinda feel that moisturiser always finishes last even I use it slightly more than the serum each time. ^_^"

Light Cream looks more like a lotion than cream. ^,^

It has a consistency of both a lotion and a cream.

Face Swatch
Here shows one scoop of light cream on my face, before and after blending it out. As can see from the most bottom right picture, my face looks rather shiny & glossy.

Review
After using, I feel that the light cream...
- consistency falls between lotion and cream (not gelish cream type)
- similar to the serum, has a pretty vivid aquatic scent as well
- easy to spread out, silky texture
- feels a tiny bit sticky after application
- not easily absorbed by the skin (I'll do light patting motions to enable quicker absorption)
- skin surface appear quite glossy and hands feels pretty greasy too after application
- skin feels slightly moisturised but feels oily at the same time
- light cream leaves me with a greasy & glossy face thus I only use it in the night
- skin appears very dewy and slightly plumped on the next day
- the skin feels pretty smooth and evenly moisturised
- can be used together with other serums/treatments
- works good for me if used once per day during the night (mostly when I'm not heading outdoors)
- experience few new inflammations on my skin (mostly those 'enclosed' comedones/pimples)
I would recommend normal to slightly dry skin types users to use the light cream because I personally find it that it is pretty oily and leaves my skin looking really shiny right after application. To prevent my face looking all shiny and whatnot, I avoid using the light cream during the day before makeup as the greasiness may melt away my makeup.

Overall Review
After using both the products separately and as a set, I find that I prefer the serum over light cream. Initially I thought that the light cream would be 'light' enough for my skin to absorb quickly and not oil up within seconds but sad to say it isn't catered for my skin type (my skin's combi-oily, sometimes very oily).
My skin being combi-oily can be dehydrated because all it has is only oil therefore without constant supply of water, my skin oils up very quickly and appears dry on the surface at the same time. With so much sebum on my skin, it needs the right kind of skincare to hydrate it. Aqualia Thermal Serum was able to do so but not the light cream. The serum is packed with hydrating ingredients without feeling really greasy therefore it works on my skin, wherelse Light cream is hydrating but is equally oily too. I would love it more if the moisturiser can be less greasy. ^_^

What I Learnt From Listening To My Body

$

Sometimes I wonder, how well do we respond to the various signs and symptoms our body is giving off. The one thing most people or even myself would do, is just to ignore and live with it.

Since my teenage years, I already knew my spine wasn't straight because I had difficulty doing sit-ups on the hard ground. I mean, who don't right? It's hard ground! Do kids still do sit-ups on the ground these days anymore? I'm sure they'll start complaining if its hurts their back but last time, there were only 2 choices for us. Do it or not to do it.
During that time everyone else were doing it great except for me, I had to slightly curve my body to the right side when getting up from the ground. Through the yearly school medical checkup, nurse confirmed that I had scoliosis but it wasn't severe.
My parents and I didn't have the health & medical knowledge then so I chose to keep quiet about it. What scoliosis gave me was not just a curved spine, it gave pain too. As I grew older, the pain became worst. Because the spine is not straight, the muscles and ligaments are constantly pulled thus causing strains and aches, especially at area where the left shoulder blade sticks out like a bulge on one side of my back. If I hadn't went for chiropractic I may not had known that the shoulder ache I had been having was linked to the spine.

Similarly, common signs and symptoms such as headache, migraine and ear ringing sounds do have their reasons behind them.
At first, I thought not having enough sleep or looking at bright light caused me to have migraines. Yes, that is actually true but there's more to it.
Apparently only after I experienced a locked jaw, I learnt that all these signs and symptoms that I had were caused by Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMJ). And TMJ is caused by several things like grinding or clenching of teeth, injury to the jaw, head or neck, tightening facial or jaw muscles and more... Stress is the main big reason why I got TMJ and why I kept having migraine & ear ringing sound everyday. Not because of late night hair washing which my mum had been warning me about, that's just a myth.
By visiting a specialist, I learnt even more about jaw, joints and possible problems that one could get if he/she often eat hard to chew foods, biting on ice and resting jaw on surfaces (be it soft or hard). To prevent further damages to my jaw joints, I wear a splint every night and prevent eating hard to chew food and also, exercise to reduce stress.

About few months ago, I experienced pain in my right arm everytime I used my mouse during work. The pain is in one of the vein that stretched from my back to my finger tip. I had already knew the reason why so when it happened. If it wasn't because I had strenuous exercises and over used my right arm during badminton sessions then it would definitely be ergonomic issue at my work station.
As the pain hit me hard, I stopped all exercises that involves arm movement and went for TCM Tui Na, a form of Chinese manipulative therapy. After the tui na sessions, my arm felt so much better and lighter, even though I still felt a little pain. They gave me chinese medicines (see picture below) which helps make my arm and joint flex better and reduce pain caused by internal and external trauma.
From this, I understand more about my body and learnt that it has a limit in everything it does. If our body can't manage the vigorous exercises then we will need to slow down. If we exceed that limit, our body will send out little signals to warn us and if ignored, it will become a large one.
After that, I had started to do stretching exercises everyday and til now, my arm no longer feel pain. I had also rectified the problem at my workstation by spending a little less time at my desk as well as increasing the number of times I do my stretching. Due to my height, the furnitures don't fit me thus I am exposed to many ergonomic risks everyday. This is where the stretching exercises come in. At almost every hour, I would stand up and walk around, go to the restroom to do simple stretching before I return to my desk. By doing so, my body would not be subjected to repetitive strain injury.
Same for the problem of looking at our smartphone for long hours, it would hurt our spine (neck area), the muscles around it as well as eyes strain. If my neck starts to feel tired, I would totally stop looking at my phone, keep it away, move my head left and right and look far. It would help to relieve both neck and eyes strain.

Besides personally experiencing the above issues, I also learnt alot from many others such as my friends, colleagues and family members. Everyone has their own set of health episodes or problems and by sharing them with me, I learnt even more as I googled for the answers.

Nowadays, everyone goes online to search for answers and so do I. When someone face health issues and tell me about it, I will search online and read articles after articles, research after research until I understand the reasons behind it. Gaining knowledge allows me to have time to take precautionary measures, such as going for annual health screening, taking vaccines to prevent diseases, eat healthy, drink lots of water and get prepared before symptoms appear.
Through my experiences and stories that I'd heard, I now learnt to take better care of my body by listening to it and be more aware of the messages that my body is sending out.
