Review & LOTD: Make Up For Ever Limited Edition Spring'14 Collection - Arty Blossom Eye Shadow Palette

Hey all! It's still Chinese New Year right? *looks at calendar* ...Yap it is! 

So I guess I'm not too late to introduce this pretty watercolour-like palette to you guys yah? It's Spring, it's Chinese New Year and it's time to paint bright colours onto your eyes~ ^_^

And I'm going to show you lots of my LOTDs and EOTDs using all these makeup~ Image intensive! ^_^

Dany has designed a collection of soft, romantic eye colours inspired by watercolour painting. You will find the textures of these eye shadows slightly different from the rest of the previous seasonal collections. They are meant to be blended to create a dreamy effect, just like a contemporary piece of art.

This palette has a Make Up For Ever logo in contemporary design sealed under a rubber textured layer on the lid. The rubber may easily get stained or dirtied as the surface is quite sticky. I'll normally use alcohol or dettol sanitizer to clean the casing. It's easier to clean it wet than just using a dry cloth or tissue.

Palette includes 2 mini brushes 226P and 214P. As usual, their brushes have really soft bristles.

From left, the shades are: Gold Plum, #122, Gold Beige, Fresh Peach, Fresh Pink, #150, Gold Green, Pearly White.

A whole row of satin eyeshadows, all of them pigmented and no fall out.

To complement the look, Make Up For Ever included a Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in 23L. A shade that I thought of buying because I lack of colourful eyeliners! 

Ingredients.

It is in somewhat beige/peach pearl champagne colour.

Lovely isn't it? ^_^ Totally loving this~ 

Using the Arty Blossom Eye Shadow Palette together with the 23L Pencil Eyeliner, I created the following looks! ^_^

First up, using Fresh Pink & Gold Beige. This was already up in my CNY Day 1 post.

Very Chinese New Year mood. lolx~ I am very much in love with these 2 shades. ♥♥

Next EOTD, I used shade #122 and Fresh Peach from the palette. This was also up in my CNY Day 2 post.

As the shade #122 isn't obvious in the above images, I edited one more to show the obvious gradient.

#122 is applied at the outer corner of my eyelid, while Fresh Peach is from inner to middle and both blend nicely together.

On the CNY Day 10, I went to visit my ex-classmate as there was a gathering at his house. And on that day, I had a red eye on my right eye (can be seen below). I don't want to scare all of you (it's really scary) so I'll only show pictures of my eye makeup like this. (U_U) hahax~

This time round, I used Gold Plum along the lash line area and Gold Green above it and blend them together at the middle. Simple eye makeup yet the colours look rather... seductive? *thinks medusa* lolx~

I always thought I don't suit any kind of green shadows because it make my eyes look dull and dark circles look even darker, so I try to stay away from greens most of the time. But for this Gold Green, it contains some gold pigments in them, making the green look less dull thus it doesn't make my eyes look like I just woke up from only an hour of sleep. hahax~ (^▽^")

See the below LOTD? The green eye makeup totally match my hair and contrast with my dress. ^_^

Last LOTD, a very bright bright bright and fun eye makeup using #150, Gold Green, Gold Beige and Pearly White.

Using #150 (look like cyan) on the inner to middle of my lids and Gold Green mix with Gold Beige on outer corner of my lids. Then I applied a little Pearly White in the inner of my lids near the nose area. I actually coincidentally had a cyan-turquoise kinda shade eyeliner pencil (from Etude House), so I lined the lower lashline to complete the look.
After which I use Make Up For Ever 23L Eyeliner Pencil to line the inner corner of the lower lashline to brighten up the eyes.

Fun colours! Doing eye makeup with this palette is like painting on a canvas~

Overall I love the shades in the palette especially Fresh Peach, Fresh Pink, Gold Beige and #122. These are the few shades that I will definitely use the most since I always liked goldish-bronzy-peachy-pinky shades. Even though I try to keep away from blues and greens but #150 and Gold Green are acceptable because when used together, they're fun colours! They make me look young and... fun!~ *smiles foolishly*

All the shades are very easy to blend and I like the slight sheen that they give out.

I was given shade D20! It is totally a CNY colour. Lolx~ Like an orange!

 Brush type wand.

It has awesome gold frecks. I'm seeing golddddd $_$~

I forgot to take a picture of my lips when I used this lip gloss but I can tell you that this orange lip gloss has orange taste! Try it if you don't believe me! ^_^  I licked my lips a few times when I wore this out. *yum orange* The lip gloss when applied on my pigmented lips isn't really visible except for the glossiness and the sparkly gold frecks. The orange shade however can be seen if applied on non-pigmented lips.

In deluxe size. Such a cute mascara~ ^_^

It volumnizes, lengthens and curls lashes.

Even though the mascara is so cutesy small, the applicator however is in regular size. The bristles are a little long and are not so densely packed.

Using Aqua Smoky Lash Mascara on both upper and lower lashes.

Mascara is easy to get onto my lashes but I find it a little on the wet side. I had to wave the wand in the air to get the wax turn slightly dry so that it can coat faster and be able to layer for more volumnized lashes. 

It volumnize my thin lashes moderately (just nice if you are not looking for very volumnized lashes). It lengthens by a little and it helps my lashes stay curled for whole day. A few times though, the bristles poked into my eyes (I have slight prominent eyes) so if you have problems with even slightly long bristles, then be careful when using this.

It is very easy to apply to my lower lashes even though mine are very very short and little.

Very easy to remove too by cleansing oil or eye makeup remover.

I use this everyday now and I find it better than my other mascaras that I use for doing an everyday natural look.
