Today, I'm reviewing a set of the Zymogen Centella Ferment skincare which consists of the Essence and Cream.

Main Ingredients and Effects
Fermented Centella Asiatica Extract
Centella Asiatica grows naturally whole area of island in the Indian Ocean, has outstanding skin resurfacing and wrinkle reducing effect to the skin with regeneration ingredients.
Scutellaria Root Extract
An extract from Scutellaria flower, contains flavonoid, helps get rid of active oxygen and protects skin from ultra-violet rays and controls melanic pigment with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic effect.
Borage Seed Extract
Borage, as a medical herb from the Mediterranean, having abundant gamma-Linolenic acid(GLA) is helpful for dry skin, skin inflammation and restoring the skin.
Also it has high ability to moisten skin and recovery ageing cells, making dry, non-elastic and sensitive skin to healthy one.
Hyaluronic Acid
One of the skin compotitions, hyaluronic acid, is a glycosaminoglycan ingredient existed in corium naturally. Hyaluronic acid molecule can combine with water on thousand times more than its weight. It does not penetrate the skin but form thin and transparent film to keep skin moisture and change rough skin to soft.
Ceramide
A component that has a role as keeping moisture in dead skin cells, it increases moisture retention power by promoting the formation of bound water and prevents evaporation of moisture from the skin through reforming lipids between cells. It also gives moist and mild skin by protecting from external irritants.

The packaging only states description in English on the front and the rest are all in korean. Will need to refer to their website for more information if required. Product has 12 months lifespan after opening.

Product can be kept till 2013 March which is about 3 years shelf life if product is unopened.
The essence comes in a pump type glass bottle. Again, there isn't English words on the bottle except for the main write-up.
With the slanted top, the finger fits perfectly on it and enables easier pumping of the product.
How to use
1. Gently apply on cleansed skin.
- After wash up in the morning and night, apply on the face and neck with suitable amount after using Toner.
2. Gain upgraded effected
- You can gain upgrade effects when using with Zymogen Hydrating Mask.
Ingredient & Recommended Skin Type
Swatch
Swatching on right half of the back of my hand. The essence appear slightly yellowish & translucent. When used on my hand, it doesn't appear glossy or shiny after it's been absorbed into the skin.
Review
Here's a face swatch. Pic 3 & 4 show my cheeks taken at two different angle therefore pic 4 shows more obvious pores. Still, my face isn't shiny too after using the essence.

How to use

There is no spatula provided so I used my own one to scoop the cream out so as to prevent contamination inside the jar.

Swatching the cream on right half of the back of my hand. The skin surface on the right half is obviously glossier than the other half.
Review
The cream when applied on my face. The skin on my face appear shiny, more so than when it's applied with the Essence.
- has the same scent as the Essence
- usually use 1 scoop only for whole face (avoiding neck as I am afraid the cream maybe too thick for the skin there to absorb)
- buttery cream consistency (looks a little like butter too since it's yellowish ^,^)
- easy to spread out as it is really buttery smooth
- takes quite some time for it to be absorbed so I will pat it into my skin after blending it out
- has a tiny sticky after-touch
- feels rather greasy on the skin surface
- though greasy, the skin surface feels quite silky and smooth
- skin feels a little heavy due to the slightly greasy cream however it feels quite moisturised
- whole face looks oily after sometime
- can be used together with other serums
- though it makes my skin oily, but it doesn't cause any breakouts on my face
- able to repair very dry flaky areas (I used the cream on my foot where there seems like a minor eczema)
- as the cream is heavier and greasier, I will avoid using it before makeup
- use mostly only at night
Overall review
Here's my review of using both Zymogen Centella Ferment Essence & Cream for 4 weeks+.
- I use the Essence daily in the morning and night and the Cream only at night
- helps clear the dead skin cells that makes my skin look dull
- skin appear slightly less dull and then maintains at that level after that (doesn't whiten the whole face, just a little less dull than before)
- doesn't cause any break outs, it also doesn't clear the oil spots and small inflammation that I have around my jawline and neck
- inflammation scars and old scars on my face gradually faded after a month
- the dry flaky healed inflammation softened and shred off quickly without becoming a dark scar (becomes a light scar instead, which then fades off)
- skin feels a bit more smoother after using it for a month (before I was using it, my skin was already smooth)
- minimises the deep wrinkles on my laugh lines slightly, less foundation trapping within the lines
- repairs dry, scaly, flaky skin well within a short time at same time making the skin feels smooth
- doesn't help in clearing clogged pores
I feel that the Centella Ferment skincare has the higher power of skin repairing ability than any other abilities that it mentioned. So when I have troubled skin, I will use the Zymogen Greenapple AHA skincare, and then turn back to Centella Ferment skincare when the spots are gone so it will then treat the scars.
It doesn't clear oil spots, inflammation, pimples, clogged pores nor oily T-zone area, but good thing is that it doesn't cause these too. These imperfections just remain as they are throughout the period I'm using Centella Ferment skincare and some would subside by itself after about a week.
It basically just repairs damaged skin such as the scars that I often had after the oil spots or pimples are healed, flaky dry skin surface and wrinkles that are deep and feels dry. But I can't say that the repairing power is perfect too because once the skin surface feels smooth to touch, doesn't feel dry or flaky, that's when the process of healing slows down and it will take a pretty long time for it to clear off totally. (I'm talking about dark scars here) As a whole, it still helps quite a bunch in clearing my imperfections. ^_^
Basically the result of using Centella Ferment skincare is smooth, hydrated, less dull, less imperfections but slightly oily skin. (on my oily-combination skin. lolx~)
