Review: Sguard Rock On Waterproof Mascara

Sguard Rock On Mascara is a mascara with a vibrating wand. I suppose this is my... first vibrating mascara? 

I'm actually a little afraid to use mascaras that can vibrate or rotate because my eyes are a little prominent (bulging) therefore I need to be extra careful in using mascaras. Almost all kinds of big brush applicators tend to poke into my eyes easily hence I'm afraid that a vibrating one will also do the same to me.

This time I was given the Sguard Rock On Waterproof Mascara for review from Haraju-Cute (Guardian). So let's see how it goes on me. ^,^

It's ambassador Hoshi Aya pointed that Sguard Rock On should have a totally different look from the other mascara packaging. So Hot Pink x Black with bold words were used to give it a character.

As the product I received do not have description in English, therefore I shall include some of it in here, referenced from the website sguard-eyes.com.

Ingredients: Water, Vinyl Acetate/Acrylate Copolymer, Carnauba Wax, Butylene Glycol, Beeswax, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer, Alcohol, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Bentonite, Behenyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, PVP, Nylon-6, Nylon-66, Aminomethyl Propanol, Polysorbate 80, Silica, Ceteth-2, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Avocado Oil, Olive Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Panthenol, Kassou Ekisu, Carbon Black, Ceteth-15.



爆盛炸裂 - Not exactly knowing the real meaning in Japanese but if read in Chinese (it's also Chinese words) it meant "Explosion".

At the top of the cap is a button to press to activate the vibrating wand.

Sguard Rock On Mascara structure & How to use
Long & short bristles with custom made Mohawk brush structure.
Mohawk brush can be used for both short and long eyelashes. It detangles clumped lashes & fibers while lifting the upper eyelashes and also provides lengthening & volume. Short brush for easy application on the lower eyelashes and end of the eyelashes.

Formula
2 types of fibers are included in the mascara formula which is the long & short fiber.
One by one, the 2 types of fibers will layer slowly on every eyelash resulting in a powerful long & volume eyelashes that look like false lashes.
Viscosity of the liquid is rather heavy, it builds up volume when applied achieving the 'explosion' effect. Professional models and professional make-up artists opinions were used to enhance the mascara fomula, making it into a professional rich liquid which will give instant volume UP effect to your eyelashes.

How to remove
Use hot/warm water to remove waterproof mascara
Though the mascara is strong against waterproof, sebum proof, sweat proof, it is however easily washed off using hot/warm water.
1. Soak cotton pad with hot/warm water
2. Press is against your eye onto the lashes and hold it for awhile
3. Mascara will start to disintegrate by itself, then remove the particles with the cotton pad
4. Rinse off remaining mascara with hot/warm water, or use small amount of eye make-up remover when necessary

This is from one of the LOTD I post sometime ago. Check out what other products I used for this look besides Sguard Rock On Mascara. ^_^

- mascara formula is a little dry, not the wet kind I expected it would be since it has volumizing ability
- applicator brush size just nice for me, won't poke my eyes
- not really easy to brush on, have to layer many times to get the fibre to stick to my lashes
- hard to apply on my bottom eyelashes which are very thin and sparse (the formula is dry so it did not get onto the lashes)
- lengthening effect is ok, but I don't really see much volumizing effect going on
- mohawk brush is easy to use for seperating my eyelashes
- very defined at the end of the lashes
- eyelashes stay curled up whole day without drooping
- doesnt't feel heavy
- doesn't smudge

- eyelashes feel soft upon touch
- minimal clumping
- the vibrating wand only worked for first few applications and it stopped, even so, it doesn't make any difference to my lashes (I just apply the mascara as per normal like any other mascara hahax~)
- easy to remove (I used cleansing oil to massage on dry eyes, then emulsified it with warm water and the mascara just melt away)
- did not cause any stinging sensations to my eyes

Overall, it's a pretty natural mascara even though they name it "Explosion" which make me thought that it can make my lashes really volume and long. This shall now goes into my 'daily natural lashes' mascara compartment. lolx~
